Seeing Red

Seeing_red

Though red isn't my favorite color, it does seem to be my color of choice for office/technology accessories. Since putting together this photo collection for Mosaic Monday on Flickr last year, I've added to the red-ness of it all w/ an OXO red trash can, JVC Marshmallow red earbuds, a red Fisher Bullet Space Pen, and a Leatherman multi-tool in red.

Top row: 1. 3.5" diskettes upcycled into pencil holder, 2. Moleskine Cahier pocket journals, 3. Mini carreta from Costa Rica, used as iTouch docking station, 4. Page-Up document holders, 5. Tiny thumbdrive for microSD card.

Middle row: 6. Coach leather 3x5 agenda with matching pen, 7. MontBlanc Generations ballpoint pen, 8. Moleskine pocket notebook, 9. Podera Luxe USB hub, 10. Moshi Cardette media card reader,

Bottom row: 11. Staple-free stapler, 12. Swingline Tot mini stapler, 13. Swingline 747 stapler, 14. Radio Flyer mini wagon, 15. Embellished keyboard

Crush: Melamine

When picnicking on the patio, in the park or at the beach, there's no
reason to use plain paper plates, plastic utensils and foam cups.

A search for "melamine" on Amazon will uncover literally hundreds of picnic-perfect pieces. There's something for everyone, from the stylish two-tone Thomas Paul designs to the bright French Bull to the Mediterranean patterns by Le Cadeaux.

Melamine mixing bowls w/ lids are great for transporting food and the fun, bright colors make them cute serving bowls as well.

These melamine Le Cadeaux cheese boards (inspired by the Deruta rooster from Italy) would make fabulous sandwich plates. I think they'd look great on a classic blue check tablecloth or this "Provence" design from W-S.

Now about that sandwich... maybe artisan bread with turkey + brie + fig preserves?

Crush: Merletto in aqua

I love aqua, be it waves lapping at a Caribbean beach, my favorite
silk & cashmere Eskandar sweater, or my birthstone mounted in
white metals. So naturally when I saw these Merletto dishes by Arte
Italica, it was love a first sight.

These pieces would be perfect for tea time or dessert. Or a
continental breakfast -- in bed, please.

(Couldn't find a photo of the Aqua cake plate, but they make one.)
